Nemechek Finishes 38th in Texas
News
FORT WORTH, Texas (Nov. 2, 2008) -- Joe Nemechek finished 38th in Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway.

The Furniture Row Racing driver started from the 27th position, but handling problems with his No. 78 Chevrolet was the main issue during the 334-lap, 500-mile race that started in daytime and ended under the lights.

"We got off to a good start this weekend, but it slipped away from us today," said Nemechek. "We were all over the map in making adjustments because the car's handling was going back and forth between tight and loose. Unlike some of our previous races, we brought the Furniture Row Chevy home in one piece. No accidents today -- that's the good news. For a change, we didn't find ourselves in the wrong place and the wrong time."

There was some other good news for Nemechek and the single-car team which is based in Denver, Colo. This was the 21st consecutive race and the 31st of 34 events the No. 78 team has qualified.

"That's a positive, but we also want to get it going on race day too," offered Nemechek. "There are two more races remaining, and we want to end the season on a high note."

The race winner was Carl Edwards. Rounding out the top five in order were: Jeff Gordon, Jamie McMurray, Clint Bowyer and Greg Biffle.

The next Sprint Cup race is Sunday (Nov. 9) at Phoenix International Raceway.
