Nemechek Finishes 29th in Bristol
NewsBRISTOL, Tenn. (Aug. 23, 2008) -- Joe Nemechek finished 29th in Saturday night's NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

The Furniture Row Racing driver, who started the race from the 43rd position, stayed out of trouble at the half-mile, high-banked oval and was able to bring home his Chevy Impala in one piece.

"We weren't clicking tonight and it was important to be patient and avoid the wrecks," said Nemechek. "When you start last (43rd) and pick up 14 positions it wasn't all that bad. We had a mixed package. Some runs we were decent and other runs were a handful. But the key is that we continue to qualify and finish races. You need to compete in order to improve. And this Furniture Row Racing Team is doing just that."

The Bristol race winner was Carl Edwards. Rounding out the top five in order were: Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick and Jeff Gordon.

The next stop for the 3-year-old Denver, Colo.-based team will be next week (Sunday, Aug. 31) at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif.
